July 2008
Dear Parents and Students,
Please accept this letter of introduction from me, Mrs. Kari Roy, DeWitt Herbison Woods School science and math teacher. This year will be my fifteenth year teaching in a DeWitt Panther classroom!!! I’m located in room B104, which has a dream set up for our science labs and other activities! I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know your sixth grader!
I live in DeWitt with my husband and two children. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Michigan in 1992, and a Master of Arts in Natural Science from Michigan State University in 1998. I continue to enjoy taking classes every year to collect new ideas that inspire and energize my students. I also enjoy biking, scrapbooking, gardening, traveling with my family, and attending DeWitt sporting events (as many of my current and former students participate).
I am thrilled to have an opportunity to work with you and your sixth grader during the upcoming school year. Welcome!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kari Roy

Congratulations on locating our website!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep an eye for the back-to-school flyers for these easily obtained materials; if you have any difficulties, please know I will help you get what you need upon our first week of school. I look forward to meeting you and your family in September!!!!!!
One (1) 3-ring binder (2 inches wide)
2 tab dividers: one labeled SCIENCE; one labeled MATH

One, 1 subject, 3-hole spiral, college - ruled notebook
Loose notebook paper for inside binder (5 or more sheets will be good to start)
1 red & 1 blue ink pen

Happy summer!
